Exploring the
Connected World

Meet Stephen F. DeAngelis, a serial entrepreneur and technology pioneer. He is a former visiting scientist at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and the Computational and Mathematical Sciences and National Security Directorates at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Most recently, he was the Visiting Professional Executive in Cognitive Reasoning Platforms in the Department of Chemistry at Princeton University. A multi-patent holder, technology pioneer, and thought leader, he explores the future of business, international relations, and global economics.

His particular interest is understanding how new concepts and ideas are generated at the intersection of diverse disciplines. In these collaborative spaces, Stephen believes people can work together toward solving some of the world's most persistent challenges. This “better together” phenomenon was discussed by best-selling author Frans Johansson in his book The Medici Effect. The Medici family used their wealth to bring artists, philosophers, theologians, and scientists to Florence where their combined intellect helped burst the historical pall known as the Dark Ages. Today’s environment and Polycrisis require similar efforts to create a better future for mankind.

Stephen F. DeAngelis, a visionary at the nexus of intellect, innovation, and impact, began his journey in international relations at American University. A graduate of the School of International Service, his focus of study was on U.S. Security and Defense Policy, Sino American Affairs and Quantitative Approaches to International Relations.

His career has been at the intersection of the government, commercial and academic sectors and seamlessly blends international relations business acumen, government affairs, and academic pursuits.

In the mid-to late-1990s, leveraging the power of the internet, DeAngelis pioneered a first-of-its-kind web-enabled supply chain management solution. Post 9/11, he turned his focus to making government agencies and networks more resilient, leading to the inception of Enterra Solutions®. Stephen was recognized as "The Innovator" in Esquire magazine's Best and Brightest Review for his peace and stability/economic development work in Iraq.

Transitioning to build upon those experiences, Stephen invented Enterra’s Autonomous Decision Science Platform®™ (ADS®). He is helping reshape the commercial landscape with AI-driven business transformation integration through the use of the Enterra ADS Platform®, and its Enterra System of Intelligence®, and autonomous management practices . As a Visiting Scientist/Professional Executive and commercial CEO of Artificial Intelligence and Applied Mathematics companies, Stephen collaborates with esteemed institutions and individuals reaching the forefront of business, technology and global affairs.

Stephen’s Vision

Stephen envisions a future where the strategic application of enlightened reasoning, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, advanced analytics, and autonomous decision science enhances commercial and governmental entities’ competitiveness, resiliency, and security; while supporting global peace and security operations and mutual understanding of people across different geographies, cultures and beliefs.

With a focus on transformative technologies and collaborations with leading institutions, his commitment lies in driving innovation and positive change. His particular area of interest lies in understanding how cross-trans-disciplinary concepts can be combined to create new solutions to the world’s challenges. Stephen has been a thought leader theorizing about the fundamental nature of complexity science platforms and, as a practitioner, he has concentrated on building models and systems that enable the analysis and control of complex, dynamical systems at different levels of abstraction from the molecular level to the operations of global organizations to nation-state competition.
